Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using Calam.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Calam mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Calam provides Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calling services that allow you to make outbound voice calls over WiFi or cellular data connections. When you make a call through Calam, your verified mobile phone number is displayed as the caller ID to the recipient.

3. Account Registration

To use Calam, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Provide a valid mobile phone number for verification
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account
  • Be responsible for all activity under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or are used for fraudulent purposes.

4. Payments and Credits

Calam operates on a prepaid credit system:

  • You must purchase credit before making calls
  • Call rates vary by destination and are displayed in the App
  • Credits are non-transferable between accounts
  • Unused credits do not expire while your account remains active
  • Refunds for unused credits are available within 30 days of purchase

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Calam to:

  • Make harassing, threatening, or abusive calls
  • Engage in telemarketing or spam calling
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Interfere with or disrupt our services
  • Attempt to circumvent any security measures

Violation of these terms may result in immediate account termination without refund.

6. Service Limitations

Please be aware that:

  • Calam requires an active internet connection to function
  • Call quality depends on your network connection
  • Calam is not a replacement for traditional phone service
  • Calam cannot be used for emergency calls (911, 999, 112, etc.)
  • Some destinations may not support caller ID display

7. Intellectual Property

The Calam App, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by Calam and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our App without explicit permission.

8. Privacy

Your use of Calam is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Calam is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We are not responsible for:

  • Service interruptions or outages
  • Failed or dropped calls
  • Call quality issues due to network conditions
  • Actions taken by telecommunications carriers

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Calam shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to lost profits, data loss, or business interruption.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Calam harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these terms.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via email. Continued use of Calam after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using Calam at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. Upon termination, unused credits may be refunded at our discretion.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
